Richard Childress Racing's No. 3 pit crew paid tribute to the late Dale Earnhardt Sr. by holding up Dale Earnhardt flag on the 3rd lap of the 2021 Daytona 500.
NASCAR encouraged all of the fans a pit members to hold up three fingers to honor the late Earnhardt, who was killed in a last lap crash in the 2001 Daytona 500, though the No. 3's pit crew decided to do more than that for their former driver. After all, it was Dale Earnhardt, who made the No. 3 a legendary number in NASCAR, although these days Austin Dillon drives the legendary No. 3 Chevrolet.
I thought that, the No. 3 pit crew holding that flag, made this years Daytona 500 extra special.
