The race team says that Cody Ware is stepping away from the Cup Series at Bristol “ to focus on a personal matter”.
With 533 starts in NASCAR’s top-three national series Matt Crafton will make his third NASCAR Cup Series start this Sunday.
Crafton first filled a Cup Series seat in 2015 driving the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18, as Kyle Busch and his wife expected their first child. Crafton later drove the No. 36 for Front Row Motorsports, after Matt Tifft suffered a medical issue.
As a NASCAR veteran Crafton has accomplished three Truck Series Championsips, alongside his 15 series victories.
