Driving for David Gilliland Racing throughout the past two full seasons, Hailie Deegan has shown some promise, through struggles in the team's performance. Deegan has scored three top-10 finishes, two of those coming in 2022. Additionally, Deegan has achieved a 19.8 average finish throughout her time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Looking beyond the Truck Series, higher performance could be in store for the female driver.
The No. 07 machine has generally been a lower tier ride, in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Although that is the case, earlier this year we learned that with the right support they can perform well, when Cole Custer won at Auto Club Speedway.
That win was aided by his full-time ride in the Cup Series, driving for Stewart-Haas Racing.
Although Hailie Deegan does not drive for Stewart Haas Racing, she does have ties to the big-time race team. Deegan is a development driver for Ford, which Stewart-Haas Racing works closely with, and receives funding from. Additionally, Stewart-Haas Racing works with Monster Energy as a sponsor for Riley Herbst in the Xfinity Series. Hailie Deegan also receives significant funding from the energy drink company.
There is no expectation that Stewart-Haas Racing will provide significant assistance to the SS Green Light Racing No. 07 team, but many factors imply that something could be in store.
