This fourth consecutive victory is significant historically as well as tying one of the longstanding records, which had been set in 1983 by driver Sam Ard.
Brandon Jones scored the pole position to start the event, and just about brought out hell on the first lap as he skidded out in turn one after the green flag dropped. Luckily for him and everyone else, no contract what-so-ever was made with the No. 19 machine and the caution flag did not fly.
Stage-one was won by Daniel Hemric, the defending series champion, and Stage two was won by his teammate AJ Allmendinger.
And as cautions usually breed cautions, the single incident of the lapped car of Akinori Ogata on lap-105 stacked up the field for a few restarts of disaster. On lap-111, AJ Allmendinger got into the back of a very loose Brandon Brown, causing him to spin into traffic and collect multiple drivers. Playoff drivers Ryan Sieg and Allmendinger where both involved but continued on. The next restart wasn't any prettier. In turn-two, Allgaier clipped John Hunter Nemechek and collected more cars. Ending the days of playoff drivers Brandon Jones, Daniel Hemric, and obviously Allgaier.
Noah Gragson narrowly beat Austin Hill on the pit and fuel strategy, therefore keeping his win streak very much alive.
