NASCAR Cup Series veteran driver Kurt Busch took home his first win of the 2022 season at Kansas Speedway on Sunday, May 15th. 23XI Racing had a strong showing all race long, despite the pit crews lagging performance, Busch fought his way to victory lane, while teammate Bubba Wallace scored a top-10 finish as well. The victory was his 34th career NASCAR Cup Series win.

Busch re-wrote the NASCAR history book in a few different sections in today's race, becoming one of the only modern-era drivers to win at the top level of stock car racing, competing in the four most recent car manufacturers: Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet, and now Toyota. It was also the first time the No. 45 car has reached victory lane at this level since LeeRoy Yarbrough drove the number on a Plymouth at Greenville-Pickins Speedway in 1964.

Toyota driver Christopher Bell earned the pole position to start the "AdventHealth" 400, and teammate Kyle Busch taking the Stage 1 points added to the strong showing from the Toyota camp. The eventual race winner took home the extra points from Stage 2, beginning to build his stash of playoff points.

Multiple drivers had tire problems, likely from the tire compound and suggested tire pressures right from Goodyear. It didn't matter who you were, where you were running in the field, and how hard you were pushing your machine, the tires seemed to be a major weak point in the competition. Multiple drivers had problems with the tires during practice, most of them damaging their race cars to some extent. Unfortunately, the tire problem would take out multiple contenders for the win, drivers like: William Byron, Chase Elliott, and Tyler Reddick to name a few.

However, the overall racing that took place during the "AdventHealth" 400 was phenomenal, with the leaders getting stretched out and bunched back together all throughout the event, making it a fun race to watch live at the track, and of course from home.
