Zane Smith wins 2022 Truck Series "XPEL" 225 at COTA

    Completely sweeping the race clean from the stage points and finishing points, Zane Smith pulled off his second NASCAR Truck Series victory of the 2022 Season at Circuit of the Americas.

Smith went 4-wide in turn-11 with Kyle Busch, Stewart Friesen, and Alex Bowman coming to take the white flag, and ran away with the victory.

26 of the 36-truck field finished the race on the lead lap, with a handful of drivers not finishing the event. Pole-sitter Sheldon Creed completed only a single lap, as he fell victim to drivetrain issues. Blaine Perkins' No. 9 truck would fall out of competition due to a failing transmission just a few laps later.
