DeWalt sponsoring Kyle Busch in 2022 "Ruoff Mortgage" 500 at Phoenix

    Kyle Busch will be driving with a different sponsor on his No. 18 Toyota Camry this coming weekend at Phoenix Raceway. DeWalt, a Black & Decker power tool brand, will be the primary sponsor for Kyle's race car in Sunday's NASCRA Cup Series race. 

While DeWalt is a new sponsor for Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18 team, it is not however, new to the JGR camp. Former drivers Matt Kenseth and Erik Jones have piloted the No. 20 car for JGR, with DeWalt sponsorship. Current No. 20 driver Christopher Bell has represented the power tool brand a couple of times, but we have never seen DeWalt on the No. 18 machine.

The last time DeWalt has made it to victory lane as a primary sponsor was in August of 2012, when Marcos Ambrose won at Watkins Glen International. Stanley tools, also owned by Black & Decker, shared the primary sponsorship scheme on the No. 9 Ford built by Richard Petty Motorsports. So no, DeWalt has not won as a primary sponsor on a Toyota, and they never even sponsored a Chevrolet.

Kyle Busch will be looking to bring DeWalt to victory lane, as he fights for his first win of the 2022 Season. This year, Busch will be looking to tie Richard Petty's record of 18 consecutive seasons, to have won at least one race in the NASCAR Cup Series.

The "Rouff Mortgage" 500 at Phoenix raceway will take place on Sunday, March 13th. Live television coverage for the race will begin at 3:30 PM EST on FOX.
