SiriusXM to sponsor Christopher Bell and Kurt Busch in 2022

SiriusXM Radio Inc. has announced that they will continue their partnership inside the NASCAR Cup Series "Toyota camp", staying with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2022: but adding races for new Toyota driver Kurt Busch. They will sponsor Christopher Bell, who currently drives for Joe Gibbs Racing, but Busch will drive for 23XI Racing in 2022, the team being formed by JGR driver Denny Hamlin and basketball legend, Michael Jordan.

Since 2017, SiriusXM has sponsored multiple Toyota drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series, beginning with Erik Jones when he piloted the No. 77 Camry for Furniture Row Racing. When Erik Jones made the move to Joe Gibbs Racing, which was another Toyota organization, SiriusXM would bring their sponsorship with him in 2018. They would also sponsor drivers like Matt Kenseth (No. 20 Camry, 2017), Martin Truex, Jr. (No. 19 Camry, 2019 and 2020), and most recently, Christopher Bell (No. 20 Camry, 2021).

One interesting stat is, that SiriusXM has only made it into victory lane twice as a primary sponsor, with one driver: Martin Truex, Jr. Christopher Bell came close with a runner-up finish in 2021, so he could be on the right rack to bring the No. 20 SiriusXM machine back into victory lane in the upcoming NASCAR season.

Christopher Bell will compete in the SiriusXM colors (See Image below) in a total of 5 NASCAR Cup Series events, all listed below:
  1. Clash at L.A. Coliseum (Sunday, February 6th)
  2. Martinsville Raceway (Sunday, April 9th)
  3. Darlington Raceway (Sunday, May 8th)
  4. Michigan International Speedway (Sunday, August 7th)
  5. Talladega Superspeedway (Sunday, October 2nd)

The No. 20 paint scheme for 2022 shows one thing: it doesn't look like much has changed. That is because nothing did change. Only the number placement shifted the side logo more toward the middle of the car, leaving a gap behind and above the rear wheel well.

Kurt Busch will pilot the SiriusXM colors on his No. 45 Toyota Camry for only two events in 2022. The No. 45 scheme for the events below is to be announced in the near future.
  1. New Hampshire Motor Speedway (Sunday, July 17th)
  2. Darlington Raceway (Sunday, September 4th)

You definitely will not want to miss the upcoming "Busch Light Clash" at the L.A. Coliseum on Sunday February 6th. Live television coverage will start at 8PM EST on FOX Sports 1.
