Yet another year will go by, and MBM Motorsports will miss a "Daytona" 500 start for the second consecutive season, despite bringing two separate entries each time. Driver Timmy Hill has fallen victim to missing the "Great American Race" both times with the small organization.

Due to the operation not owning a charter, the have to race their way into the main racing event through qualifying, or the Duels for the "Daytona" 500. As there are only 36 charters, and NASCAR limits the top division to a field of 40 cars, this usually means that one or two drivers and teams will go home after qualifying; that is if the field size is over the 40-car allowed capacity.

Most of the full-time operations have charters to secure of their starting in each race, while the part-time team who run a few races annually, have to get in based on speed, most of the time missing the main event. This year, MBM Motorsports had JJ Yeley and Timmy Hill try to qualify two entries, with the hopes of at least getting one car into the "Daytona" 500. Unfortunately, Yeley would get passed on the last lap in his duel race by Kaz Grala and his opposing non-chartered team, The Money Team, losing his ticket into the "Great American Race". Timmy Hill lost the draft in his duel race, getting lapped very quickly, and never was able to regain ground to get into the "free pass" position.

MBM Motorsports will have the chance in the 2023 "Daytona" 500, but it is a shame to miss the big event two years-in-a-row. However, all is not lost for Timmy Hill, as he will run the complete 2022 NASCAR Truck Series schedule for championship points in his own operation. A few races are most likely in the works for Hill and MBM Motorsports to run throughout the 2022 schedule.
