Denny Hamlin tops practice for 2022 "Wise Power" 400 at Auto Club

    Veteran NASCAR Cup Series driver Denny Hamlin drove his Joe Gibbs Racing No. 11 Toyota Camry to the top of the leaderboard at Auto Club Speedway, during the Saturday practice session prior to the "Wise Power" 400 for Sunday, February 27th.


Hamlin and his JGR teammate Kyle Busch were the two-fastest drivers during the session, with the Richard Childress Racing driver Tyler Reddick hot on their heels in third. Here is a peak at the top-5 fastest drivers in practice:

  1. Denny Hamlin, No. 11 Toyota - 41.519 seconds (173.415 MPH)
  2. Kyle Busch, No. 18 Toyota - 41.580 seconds (173.160 MPH)
  3. Tyler Reddick, No. 8 Chevrolet - 41.756 seconds (172.472 MPH)
  4. Joey Logano, No. 22 Ford - 41.753 seconds (172.443 MPH)
  5. Alex Bowman, No. 48 Chevrolet - 41.811 seconds (172.203 MPH)


Kevin Harvick failed to complete a lap during practice, as he wrecked his No. 4 Ford Mustang before crossing the start/finish line. Ross Chastain also crashed his car during practice, completing only a single lap.
