Justin Haley, who once won a race at the Cup Series level, was slated to pilot the No. 16 Camaro on a full-time basis next season. Haley will retain his full-time Cup Series ride, but Kaulig Racing will be choosing a different car number for the 22 year old driver. That number will likely be announced in the following weeks.
Three full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series drivers will take a turn in the No. 16 Cup Series car next year. Kaulig Racing Xfinity teammates, AJ Allmendinger and Daniel Hemric will split a total of 24 Cup Series races in that car Additionally, full-time JR Motorsports driver Noah Gragson will pilot the No. 16 in 14 Cup Series events, which is the majority of the schedule. The current NASCAR Cup Series schedule has 36 points-paying races, and two non-points races.
Daniel Hemric and AJ Allmendinger have had full-time Cup Series rides in previous years, although Noah Gragson will be seeing his first major opportunity in the NASCAR Cup Series. Gragson will attempt his first start in the NASCAR Cup Series in the 2022 Daytona 500 with Beard Motorsports, and then pilot the Kaulig Racing No. 16 machine for 14 unspecified events.
Sponsorship and scheduling for the NASCAR Cup Series No. 16 and it's drivers should be released in the upcoming weeks and months.
