22 year old Chris Hacker, an Indiana native, has an interesting story to tell when it comes to his racing career. Being first known NASCAR driver to be born with a brachial plexus injury, also known as BPI, Hacker has has undergone three primary surgeries, working with his nerves and tendons to allow normal mobility in his arms and shoulders. Hacker has improved significantly from this issue, starting off with only limited moevement in his fingers, and now being able to handle a race vehicle at upwars of 130 miles per hour.
In spite of these road blocks, Chris Hacker has developed a decently successful racing career thus far. After some competition in the ARCA Menard's Series, and plenty of time behind the wheel of Bolanderos and Late Model race cars, Hacker migrated to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2021. The driver made his debut with Josh Reaume and the Reaume Brothers racing team, driving the No. 34 Toyota Tundra.
Hacker would go on to compete in three more races during the 2021 season, getting behind the wheel of the Niece Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado, and returning to Reaume Brother's Racing for one final race of the 2021 season (at Phoenix). In his debut season, Hacker scored a best finish of 16th place, which came at the fall "United Rentals" 300 at Martinsville with the Niece No. 45 team.
Hacker said, "I am excited to be able to partner with Reaume Brothers Racing for 2022. Not only Josh Reaume, but the whole crew has very supportive for my debut season. A lot of people underestimate how important the connection between a driver and team is. With the connection the RBR team and I have, I believe we are going to be able to accomplish a lot."
RBR team owner Josh Reaume said, "We are excited to welcome Chris back to Reaume Brothers Racing in 2022. We are excited to continue with him and be part of his journey in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Chris impressed a lot of people in our trucks last year and we believe that he will continue to do so throughout the 2022 season."
Chris Hacker will still face the learning curves that come with national series competition this upcoming season. Aerodynamics, such as clean and dirty air, as well as understanding the agression his of his new competitors will be topics that seek attention. Undoubtedly though, the young driver has a bright future in the windshield, and a career ready to blossom.
Hacker will make his first start of 2022 on March 19th, at the newly repaved Atlanta Motor Speedway. The remainder of Hacker's part-time schedule will be released at a later date.
Any sponsorship and partners for Chris Hacker will also be announced in the future. Expect to see Rochester, New York's Charred Flag Factory return as partner in some shape or form.
I’m excited to announce that I will be returning to @RBR_Teams for the 2022 @NASCAR_Trucks season! I can’t thank Josh enough for this opportunity that he has given me. Can’t wait to see what we can do! https://t.co/UfqCumlDeO
