Even though the race was ended prematurely due to rainfall, and a wreck-induced caution occurred allowing for a very unique finish of the "YellaWood" 500. The results of this wreck and the untimely rain, allowed Rookie of the Year contender, Anthony Alfredo to score the first top-10 finish of his short career.

Anthony Alfredo drives the No. 38 Ford Mustang on a full-time basis in the NASCAR Cup Series, the rookie driver made his first start in the series during the 2021 "Daytona" 500. Alfredo has not completed a full-time season in either the NASCAR Xfinity Series or the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. His up-to-date career stats are very interesting to say the least, and I mean that in the sense of how it is possible that Alfredo made it to the NASCAR Cup Series.

First, let's look at his NASCAR National Series starts.

  • NASCAR Cup Series Stats:
    • 31 Total Starts (To Date),
    • 1 Top-10,
    •  6 DNF's.
  • NASCAR Xfinity Series Stats:
    • 19 Total Starts,
    • 2 Top-5's,
    • 9 Top-10's,
    • 2 DNF's.
  • NASCAR Truck Series Stats:
    • 14 Total Starts,
    • 2 Top-10's,
    • 4 DNF's.

I don't quite know why he was moved to the Cup level so quick besides the fact that he may have brought (some) funding for the team, but it sure is hard to gain and withhold sponsors without results. I will dive further into that topic in another article later in the post-season.

I am really glad that Alfredo has reached this milestone, and hope that he can gain a bit of momentum to finish of the season strong.
