Spencer Boyd and Rounded Gear slide the number forward for Talladega

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Spencer Boyd will pilot the Young's Motorsports' No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, but this time with a slight twist. Rounded Gear (.com) will get some prime advertising space on the truck this weekend, by utilizing the door panel for their logos, and to compensate for this use of the door panel the No. 20 will be slightly shrunk, and shoved forward towards the contingency panel.

While we have found out in the past couple of years that the NASCAR Cup Series has an interest in changing their number placement, and more recently that in 2022 the Cup cars will see their numbers moved forwards, to our knowledge, this number placement for the Young's Motorsports entry will be the first time in recent history that a NASCAR Truck will feature a racing number placed anywhere aside from the door panel. That is huge, and this news (as some may expect) has fans on their feet expressing how they feel about Boyd's number placement.

Rounded Gear is a company that will soon be changing their name to "Concealment Express", selling holsters and other accessories for firearms, all made in the USA. Rounded gear has sponsored Spencer Boyd and the No. 20 truck as an associate sponsor for multiple other races, and have done so as recently as the "Victoria's Voice Foundation" 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this past weekend. As previously stated, the Rounded Gear Logos will take up nearly half of Boyd's truck, but with the number controversy aside, the graphics do look quite sharp.

Spencer Boyd will be heading to Talladega with excitement, as the afternoon race could go either way for the 26 year old driver. Back in 2019 Boyd achieved the unthinkable, winning the "Sugarlands Shine" 250. This win for Boyd came after Truck Series veteran Johnny Sauter made an illegal block and Sauter's 1st place finish was revoked, giving the runner up finisher (Spencer Boyd) the victory. While some may not look at this victory as a "true win" for Boyd, his 2nd place performance was undoubtable and worthy of praise.

You can catch this unique paint scheme hit the track this Saturday, October 2nd, 2021, during the "Chevrolet Silverado" 250 at Talladega Superspeedway as Spencer Boyd makes an attempt at his second Camping World Cup Series victory. Race coverage will begin at 1:00 PM ET and will be aired live on Fox Sports 1.
