Kevin Harvick’s veteran crew chief Rodney Childers has been suspended through this weekend’s “YellaWood” 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, following lug nut infractions found on the No. 4 car at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
In post race inspection, Harvick’s No. 4 car was discovered to have two loose lug nuts, which means a monetary fine of $20,000, and a one race suspension for Childers.
Surprisingly, Rodney Childers is not disappointed by his one race suspension this weekend, in fact he described it as “meant to be”. Childres explained further in a post on popular media website Twitter, saying:
Firm believer everything happens for a reason. Next Sunday is my two boys birthday. 13 years ago next Sunday I was in Talladega when I got the call to get home, and flew home to see two baby boys born. It was meant to be, for me to be home for this birthday. ❤️❤️🙏🏼 https://t.co/d29THHWuDP
