Kyle Busch wins Xfinity race at Texas - Race Results

Joe Gibbs Racing

Kyle Busch has won the NASCAR Xfinity Series “Alsco Uniforms” 250 at Texas Motor Speedway, scoring his 99th career victory in the series.

After a hot day at Fort Worth’s “Texas Motor Speedway”, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch came out victorious in his Twix Toyota Supra. Busch had to start 14th, and in only 26 laps, he made up that difference to lead the field around the track. While the No. 54 had some almost unbelievable speed, the No. 22 of Austin Cindric gave Busch a run for his money. Cindric grabbed the lead from Kyle Busch, and lead the field to the end of stage 1, winning another stage this season. In stage 2 Kyle Busch would have to fight his teammates Daniel Hemric and Brandon Jones to find the lead, but ultimately Busch was able to do so, and won stage 2.

Stage 3 was composed of three main characters; Kyle Busch, Justin Allgaier, and Austin Cindric. JR Motorsports, as well as the No. 7 team were having a very good day, and now Allgaier had the opportunity to win. Battling for the lead, Kyle Busch was obviously faster, but smart maneuvers, and trickery from Allgaier was able to barely get the No. 7 Camaro the lead. As the backstretch gobbled up race cars, Allgaier and Busch would have to battle again and again on restarts, at first Allgaier was able to outsmart Busch. After so many late race cautions there were no cards left to play for Justin Allgaier, and the more dominate No. 54 was able to grab the lead and hold it, ending the No. 7 teams chance for the win, and allowing Kyle Busch to score his 99th NASCAR Xfinity Series victory. Austin Cindric was carefully placed behind both the No. 54 and the No. 7, but just did not have the opportunities necessary to win today.

While battling for the lead, Allgaier, Busch, and Cindric were the big names, but a few other story lines went under he radar. For starters Noah Gragson, who had been on an awful streak of wrecking out early, was able to keep his car in one piece, and stay within the Top-10 all day, finishing 7th. Another driver who had an outstanding day was Brandon Brown. Coming into this race, Brown made it absolutely clear that he did not have sponsorship for this race, and a handful of others. Brown made a humorous video posing as a salesman, and posted it to Twitter in hopes of finding sponsorship. The car came to the track today painted up with a large “For Sale” sign on the hood. That car performed very well all day, and finished 13th, which should look very well for sponsorship.

In this race, Austin Cindric won stage 1, and Kyle Busch won stage 2.
