Goodyear rolls as the official race sponsor of the Darlington Throwback race in May

    Darlington Raceway and Goodyear have announced that they have partnered for the entitlement of the spring NASCAR Cup Series race, as part of NASCAR’s Official Throwback Weekend (May 7th, 8th, and 9th). The official name of the race will be the “Goodyear” 400.

In support of the Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR, Goodyear will once again replace the yellow “Eagle” logo on the sidewalls of its racing tires with a vintage “Blue Streak” sidewall design. In keeping with the race weekend’s throwback theme, the Blue Streak tires will include white Goodyear lettering and a white logo that reflect the design of NASCAR tires used in the 1960’s and 1970’s. The Blue Streaks were phased out in 1981 as Goodyear’s racing tires moved to the “Eagle” design.

The "Goodyear 400" will take place on Sunday, May 9th at Darlington Raceway. Live coverage will begin at 3:30 PM EST, and will be broadcasted on FOX Sports 1.
