Trackhouse Racing |
During yesterday’s inaugural “Food City Dirt Race” at Bristol Motor Speedway, Daniel Suárez finished 4th, scoring his best finish at the newly formed Trackhouse Racing.
For the past few weeks Suárez and the No. 99 team have had great speed. At last week at Atlanta, Suárez was running well within the top-10, and even led a lap, before speeding on pit road, and being forced to move to the rear of the field.
During stage 2 of yesterday’s historical dirt race, Suárez, who has little to no dirt racing experience, passed the leader Martin Truex Jr. on lap 153. Suárez held onto this lead for a total of 58 laps, which is the most laps he has ever led in his entire career in the NASCAR Cup Series. Daniel Suárez only lost this lead when on a late stage restart, Joey Logano passed him to win the stage, and eventually went on to win the entire race.
They knew the 9️⃣9️⃣ came to play today. @Daniel_SuarezG (P4) led 58 laps this afternoon, the most he's led in a race during his NASCAR Cup Series career. pic.twitter.com/tLEXOXqXmV
