Ty Gibbs wins the “Super Start Batteries” 188 at the Daytona Road Course

   Ty Gibbs in the No. 54, wins the NASCAR Xfinity Series “Super Start Batteries” 188 at the Daytona Road Course, in his first career start in the Xfinity series. 

This race started out with intense competition between the No. 16 of AJ Allmendinger, and the No. 22 of Austin Cindric, who are both very good road course racers. AJ Allmendinger was very close to winning the first stage until he blocked Cindric, and contact between the two led to the No. 16 spinning, and the No. 22 passing the finish line first.

The second stage of the race saw the Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Supra’s consistently towards the front of the pack, and the stage finished with the No. 54 of Ty Gibbs winning stage 2. Throughout the 3rd stage, we continued to see the Joe Gibbs Racing cars towards the front of the pack, and towards the end of the race a there was a battle between the No. 54 of Ty Gibbs and the No. 22 of Austin Cindric. In the final laps, a series of cautions came out, and after 2 overtime attempts, Ty Gibbs took his very first victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
