NASCAR Cup Series racers qualified tonight at the Daytona International Speedway for the upcoming Daytona 500. The No. 48 of Alex Bowman won the Busch Pole, and will start on the pole for duel #1 followed by the No. 10 of Aric Almirola, the No. 47 Ricky Stenhouse Jr., the No. 20 of Christopher Bell, and the No. 37 of Ryan Preece (respectively) The No. 24 of William Byron will start on the pole for duel #2 and will be followed by the No. 23 of Bubba Wallace, the No. 4 of Kevin Harvick, the No. 3 of Austin Dillon, and the No. 9 of Chase Elliott (respectively).
Note: The No. 62 and No. 15 did not qualify tonight. The No. 62 of Noah Gragson failed inspection 3 times, and only then passed on the 4th try. The No. 15 of Derrike Cope experienced problems with the battery, and was not able to fire-up the car. Noah Gragson will have to race his way in to the Daytona 500, while Derrike Cope has a charter and is locked into Sunday’s race.
