In today’s Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, 16 cars were involved in an enormous crash that took place on lap 14.

The wreck began when going into turn 3, Kyle Busch pushed his teammate, Christopher Bell, into the No. 10 of Aric Almirola, which spun Almirola into Alex Bowman in No. 48. Drivers like Ryan Newman, Erik Jones, Jamie McMurray, Martin Truex Jr., William Byron, Daniel Suárez, Ryan Blaney, and others, were involved in this wreck.

Shortly after this wreck the red flag was called for lightning being within 8 miles of the track, and rain then began to pour down.

At this moment the drivers that will not continue in this race (due to this incident) are; Aric Almirola, Alex Bowman, Daniel Suárez, Ryan Newman, Ryan Blaney, Erik Jones, and David Ragan. Since the race is under a red flag right now, teams are unable to repair their cars. Some drivers that are not yet out of the race, but may eventually be are; Martin Truex Jr. in the No. 19, William Byron in the No. 24, Jamie McMurray in the No. 77, Kurt Busch in the No. 1, Anthony Alfredo in the No. 38, and Tyler Reddick in the No. 8.

UPDATE: The No. 38 in the Anthony Alfredo, the No. 21 of Matt DiBenedetto, and the No. 17 of Chris Buescher will not return to the race.

We will keep you updated on any other drivers that do not return to the race.
