John Hunter Nemechek passed Carson Hocevar for the lead on the final lap to score the win in the 2022 NASCAR Truck Series "Kansas Lottery" 200 at Kansas Speedway on Friday, September 9th.

Nemechek clearly was the dominate driver of the night: started from the pole, leading 88-laps total, and picking up both Stage wins. However, it appeared that Hocevar was there to spoil the party for Nemechek until the final lap.

Hocevar, who was trying to win his way into the "Round of 8", ran out of gasoline in his No. 42 Chevrolet Silverado just after the white flag fell but couldn't take the checkered before a charging Nemechek passed him for the win. Unfortunately, Hocevar would not advance in the NASCAR Truck Series playoffs with a runner-up effort.

It is worth noting that 3-time NASCAR Truck Series champion Matt Crafton, will also miss the next round of playoffs.
