Bubba Wallace to drive No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Xfinity car at COTA: Dr. Pepper joins as primary sponsor

23XI Racing
It was announced early Tuesday morning (03/22/2022) that Bubba Wallace will return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series lineup this coming weekend at Circuit of the Americas, driving the No. 18 Toyota Supra for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Bubba Wallace has driven for the Joe Gibbs Racing NASCAR Xfinity Series operation in years past, but it has been quite a while. He made his series debut with the organization in 2012, and last start with JGR came in 2014. Wallace raced in the No. 20 Toyota and made a total of six starts with JGR during the 2012 and 2014 NASCAR Xfinity Series seasons, earning one pole award and four top-10 finishes. More recently, Wallace competed in one NASCAR Xfinity Series race in 2021 to add to his 86 career starts in the series.

“I’m looking forward to partnering back up with Joe Gibbs Racing in the Xfinity Series after making my first career start in NASCAR with them about 10 years ago,” said Wallace. “The No. 18 Toyota GR Supra team is always strong and I’m excited to be competing with them at COTA and Indianapolis. Thanks to the team at 23XI and Toyota for helping to make this happen and thanks to Dr Pepper for coming on board for the race at COTA.”

Dr. Pepper, a founding partner of 23XI Racing and Wallace's No. 23 team, will be the primary sponsor for the No. 18 car at COTA.
