Austin Hill to drive Spire Motorsports No. 7 Truck at Daytona

Spire Motorsports

Spire Motorsports unveiled late Friday afternoon (02/11/2022) that Austin Hill will pilot the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado for Spire Motorsports in the NASCAR Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway. United Rentals, a large supporter of Hill, will sponsor the No. 7 machine in the NASCAR Truck Series season-opening race.

Hill has scored a total of 8 NASCAR Truck Series victories over the past three seasons and will be looking to score his first NASCAR Xfinity Series win as he will move up the ranks for the 2022 Season. He is set to pilot the No. 21 Chevrolet Camaro for Richard Childress Racing's famed NASCAR Xfinity Series operation, running for Rookie of the Year honors.

Spire Motorsports announced their plans to field a NASCAR Truck Series team back in November of 2021 and were looking for a full-time driver at the time. I guess they didn't find one fast enough, so there will most likely be multiple drivers to pilot this entry through the season; possibly resorting to a Spire Motorsports NASCAR Cup Series driver in a last-minute situation.

The "NextEra Energy" 250 will take place on Friday, February 18th. Live television coverage will begin at 7:30 PM EST on Fox Sports 1.
