It was announced just moments ago that Daniel Hemric will not return to Joe Gibbs Racing for 2022, but will instead drive the No. 11 Chevy Camaro for Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series next season.

Hemric, who will be making his third career playoffs appearance today in the 'Alsco Uniforms 302' at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, has not yet won in the Xfinity series. However, the current No. 18 JGR driver has racked up a total of 66 top-10 finishes, and 39 top-5 finishes out of 113 career Xfinity starts.

Team owner Matt Kaulig said, "Kaulig Racing has come a long way in just a few short years, and that's something I'm truly proud of. This year we stepped it up by having three full-time entries in the Xfinity and competing in the Cup Series full-time. We blew all our expectations out of the water when we won our first Cup race with A.J. Allmendinger, won the regular-season championship in the Xfinity Series, and got all three of our full-time drivers into the playoffs. We think Daniel is a great pick to help elevate our program."

Kaulig Racing's Xfinity Series journey began in 2016 with the No. 11 Camaro. Matt Kaulig chose to use the number 11 for one reason, because when he attended the University of Akron, 11 was his football number. Since then, the No. 11 car has been in the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs every season, and Justin Haley piloted the car to the championship four in 2020, finishing third in the points standing. In addition to this, the No. 11 car has three wins, fifteen top-5 finishes, and sixty-two top-10 finishes.

The president of Kaulig Racing, Chris Rice said, "We're excited to welcome Daniel to our Kaulig Racing family. Daniel is a strong competitor, and we think he will make a great addition to our Xfinity Series program. Statistically, Daniel ranks right among the Kaulig cars each week on the racetrack, so it's fitting that we bring in someone who will only make us better."

There has been not announcements of who will replace Hemric's current ride, the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18 Toyota Supra.

Tune in to the September 25th’s (2021) NASCAR Xfinity Series 'Alsco Uniforms 302' at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, which will be aired live on NBCSN and TSN, beginning at 7:30 E.T.
