Pre-Race Predictions: Kansas

For the most part, races at Kansas Speedway tend to be fairly low key. In recent times, once a driver takes the lead, they are usually the leader until a caution comes out. It’s is hard to get around someone at Kansas, especially for the lead.

In the Fall of 2020, Joey Logano held off Kevin Harvick for the final 45 laps to win the race, which handed him a spot for the Championship 4 at Pheonix.

Here are just a few to watch for the win this weekend at Kansas:

  • Kevin Harvick [No. 4 Ford / Stewart-Haas Racing] - Harvick has won here 3 times, and coming into what will be the 11th race of the 2021 season, he is so far winless. This could just might be Harvick’s opportunity to head to victory lane this season, and for a 4th time at Kansas.
  • Denny Hamlin [No. 11 Toyota / Joe Gibbs Racing] - Another 3 time winner at Kansas, Hamlin is yet another big name, who has not been able to win yet this season. It’s likely Hamlin will score a win somewhere, could it be Kansas? Maybe.
  • Joey Logano [No. 22 Ford / Team Penske] - Only a 2 time winner at the track, could make it 3 this Sunday. He’s already shown speed this season, scoring a win at Bristol Dirt, his second win could possibly come at Kansas.
  • Martin Truex, Jr. [No. 19 Toyota / Joe Gibbs Racing] - Will Truex take his 3rd win at Kansas, and 3rd win of the season here this weekend? Well there’s a very good possibility of it as thus far, Truex has shown to the most successful driver at Joe Gibbs Racing (this season).
  • Kyle Busch [No. 18 Toyota / Joe Gibbs Racing] - Kyle Busch is on winless streak once again, but Kansas might just be where he breaks that streak. With 8 top-10s, and a lone victory at the track, with any luck Busch could come home with a trophy.

Then for some drivers to keep an eye on:
  • Ryan Blaney [No. 12 Ford / Team Penske]
  • Brad Keselowski [No. 2 Ford / Team Penske]
  • Erik Jones [No. 43 Chevrolet / Richard Petty Motorsports]
  • William Byron [No. 24 Chevrolet / Hendrick Motorsports]

Did I miss anyone? Please let us know in the comments below who you think could win this weekend at Kansas! We’d love to hear your picks!
