Chip Ganassi Racing |
This afternoon (2/18/21) Chip Ganassi Racing released the new McDonalds paint scheme for the No. 42 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE of Ross Chastain. This scheme will debut this Sunday at the O’Reilly Auto Parts 253 at the Daytona Road Course.
McDonalds has sponsored Chip Ganassi Racing since 2010 when they partnered with the No. 1 of Jamie McMurray. Throughout the years the No. 42 car has also received this sponsorship. Last year the No. 42 team lost this sponsorship when then driver Kyle Larson was found using a racial slur during an iRacing event. After Kyle Larson was fired, and Matt Kenseth was hired to drive the No. 42, Chip Ganassi Racing regained their McDonalds sponsorship. The No. 42 team will keep this sponsorship as they bring in their new driver Ross Chastain.
In terms of the paint scheme, not much has changed. One noticeable difference in this scheme (compared to last year’s paint scheme) is that there is no white on the car, though in years past the McDonalds paint scheme has appeared this way.
